The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), in collaboration with sister security agencies, will on Thursday, December 11, 2025, conduct a coordinated joint Show of Force Exercise in Accra as part of ongoing security preparations.
The exercise, which will involve the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana National Fire Service, the Customs Division of the Excise, Preventive and Immigration Services, and the Ghana Immigration Service, is scheduled to commence at 9:00 a.m. from the Black Star Square.
It will pass through major streets in the capital before ending at the same venue.
According to a statement issued by the Department of Public Relations of the Ghana Armed Forces, the exercise is aimed at enhancing operational readiness, deterring criminal activity and assuring the public of the preparedness of Ghana’s security services to maintain peace and stability, particularly as the festive season approaches.
The statement added that the joint show of force will also strengthen inter-agency cooperation and ensure a robust national security posture to counter emerging threats and sustain a safe environment for all residents.
The Armed Forces noted that the exercise is a routine training activity and may result in increased security presence and temporary traffic slowdowns in parts of Greater Accra and its environs.
The public has, however, been encouraged to remain calm and go about their lawful duties.
