GLICO General Insurance Company Limited has submitted a formal petition to the President, raising concerns over issues it says are affecting its operations and the broader insurance industry.
The petition, signed by the company’s Managing Director, Andrew Achampong-Kyei, appealed to the President for intervention, citing what GLICO General describes as regulatory and administrative challenges that require urgent attention at the highest level of government.
In the document addressed to the Presidency, the company outlines its grievances and argues that the issues raised have significant implications not only for GLICO General but also for confidence and stability within the insurance sector.
GLICO General maintained that unresolved concerns could undermine investor confidence and weaken the effectiveness of the insurance industry’s role in supporting economic growth. The company is therefore calling on the President to exercise constitutional authority to ensure fairness, due process and institutional accountability.
The petition stresses the importance of prompt action, noting that delays could worsen the situation and affect policyholders, employees and other stakeholders connected to the industry.
GLICO General further emphasises its commitment to operating within the law and supporting national development, but insists that its concerns must be addressed in the interest of transparency and justice.
