Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey is set to leave Villarreal when his contract expires in June, following reports that he is not part of head coach Marcelino’s plans.
The Black Stars midfielder joined the Yellow Submarine on a two-year deal after his contract with Arsenal ended, but has struggled to cement his place in the team.
Since arriving at the Spanish club, the 32-year-old has made 18 appearances across all competitions, clocking a total of 943 minutes.
According to Transferfeed, Villarreal boss Marcelino has already informed the club’s hierarchy that Partey will not be retained beyond the current deal.
As a result, the former Atletico Madrid and Arsenal midfielder is expected to depart the club when his contract runs out on June 30, 2026.
Partey’s current market value is estimated at €5 million, according to Transfermarkt.
