The Ghana Medical Trust Fund is in the final stages of preparation ahead of its official rollout, following a series of crucial meetings by its Board of Trustees to ensure a smooth and effective takeoff.
The high-level engagements have focused on aligning operational structures and confirming the Fund’s readiness to deliver on its mandate of improving healthcare access nationwide.
As part of the preparatory process, the Board has engaged potential service providers to establish a robust patient-doctor navigation system.
This system is expected to streamline how patients access medical care, ensuring timely referrals and efficient coordination between healthcare providers for improved outcomes.
In addition, a dedicated technical team tasked with overseeing tariffs and the medicine list has confirmed full readiness.
This development signals that key components required for the Fund’s operations, including cost structures and approved medications, have been carefully reviewed and are set for implementation.
With all systems now aligned, the Ghana Medical Trust Fund is poised to deliver life-changing interventions across the country.
