Achimota SHS has moved on to the next stage of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) by eliminating Adventist SHS and St Hubert Seminary SHS at the one-eighth stage of the competition held at the University of Ghana.
Katari Abdul-Muhaimin Rawbil and Loren Abeku Otoo who represented Achimota SHS led the school to victory by dominating four rounds of the contest.
Appiah Nana Gyimah and Enoch Kwame Jnr Atuahene were contestants of Adventist SHS Bantama.
St Hubert Sem. SHS was contested by Emmanuel Kwabena Tabi and Solomon Agombire.
Leading the first round of the contest, Adventist SHS scored 14 points leaving Achimota SHS and St Hubert Sem. SHS to battle for 12 and 10 points respectively on the score table.

Achimota SHS gained the lead in the second round with 28 points. Adventist SHS could not hold on to the mantle. They scored 13 points with St Hubert Sem. SHS following closely with 11 points on the score table.
The problem of the day in the third round proved to be a challenging one for all schools as they found it difficult to navigate their answers into points.
Both Achimota SHS and Adventist SHS earned just a point leaving both schools with 29 and 14 points whereas St Hubert Sem. SHS gained no point in this round and maintained 11 points on the score table.
The composed contestants of Achimota SHS fought rather hard and scored 42 points in the fourth round. Adventist SHS and St Hubert Sem SHS battling between each other in this round scored 24 and 21 points respectively.
Achimota SHS won the contest with 42 points although it was unable to make a point in the fifth round. Adventists SHS followed with 33 points on the score table. St Hubert Sem SHS was left at the bottom of the table with 24 points.
