The youth wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region has received ten motorbikes for its operations in the election 2024 campaign.
The presentation from the Chief Executive of the National Health Insurance Authority, Dr. Dacosta Aboagye aims at resourcing the youth wing for effective campaigning in the constituencies.
Already, some government appointees and party faithful have made donations towards the course.
Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser of NPP, Raphael Sarfo Patrick, explains the need for more donations for the campaign in the Region.
"The project to donate one motorbike to each of the 47 constituency youth organisers and their deputies in Ashanti region is to facilitate their operations and activities in the 2024 campaign. To make Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia the President and Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh the Vice President is heavily dependent on the intensity of the campaign," he explained.
The New Patriotic Party has outlined strategies to attain eighty-five percent of votes in the Ashanti Region in the 2024 presidential election.
According to the party leadership, door-to-door campaigning will be rigorous as part of the strategies.
The Chairman of the NPP Manifesto Committee, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, believes the attainment of this objective is largely dependent on the organization units of the party.
Speaking at the launch of the party's campaign in the Ashanti Region, he noted that with a good structure, party members can develop an effective door-to-door campaign to touch base with the NPP’s message.
"The attainment of the 85 percent target is largely dependent on party members. We need to resurrect the organisational structures of the party. It is our responsibility," he added.
The challenge to revive the organisational structure is accepted by the youth wing of the party in the Ashanti Region.
But the youth organizer believes the party will have to resource the youth wing who have expressed willingness to play their part in securing the eighty-five percent target of the votes from the Region.
Though the Ashanti Region remains the New Patriotic Party’s stronghold, its highest percentage obtained in a general election is 76.2 percent.
