The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Adentan Constituency, has issued a firm rebuttal to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) assertions regarding President Akufo-Addo's alleged obsession with former President John Mahama.
In a recent interview on Onua FM, Madam Manu dismissed the NDC's claims as baseless and labeled them as a "non-starter.
During the radio interview, Kozie Manu challenged the feasibility of the NDC discontinuing ongoing projects initiated by the Akufo-Addo administration should John Mahama be elected in 2024.
Highlighting flagship programs like the "One District, One Factory" initiative and the Free Senior High School program, she explained that these interventions could cease, even as she underscored their significance in driving economic growth and providing access to basic education for young Ghanaians.
Expressing concerns over the potential repercussions of a Mahama presidency, Kozie cited previous declines in the agriculture sector, trade deficits, and low GDP experienced during his tenure. In contrast, she emphasised the NPP government's achievements, including robust economic growth, thriving agricultural initiatives, infrastructure development projects, and social welfare programs.
Comparing Vice President Dr Bawumia's track record to Mahama's presidency, Kozie asserted Dr Bawumia's strong candidacy for the upcoming presidential election, citing his proven leadership and transformative policies. She expressed confidence that Ghanaians will overwhelmingly support Dr Bawumia's bid for the presidency.
Addressing energy challenges in parts of the country, Kozie acknowledged existing issues but noted improvements under the Akufo-Addo administration. She highlighted localised challenges, such as temporary disruptions due to infrastructure projects like the Dodowa road construction, while reaffirming the government's commitment to resolving such issues.
Akosua Manu concluded by reiterating President Akufo-Addo's concerns about the potential dangers of a Mahama presidency to Ghana's progress. She emphasised that the NPP government has a proven track record of effective governance and is committed to advancing the welfare of all Ghanaians, making it the preferred choice for the nation's future. Kozie also explained that the opposition has consistently demonstrated their inability to build and develop the country.
