Ghana Football Association (GFA) General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo has revealed Black Stars coach Charles Akonnor and his assistant, David Duncan have not been paid since they started work.
Akonnor and Duncan took charge of the team in January this year after the departure of Kwesi Appiah.
The former Kotoko and Hearts of Oak coach was elevated from assistant coach, with Duncan taking his position.
However, they have since not been paid.
Akonnor and Duncan are believed to be on $25,000 and $10,000 respectively per month.
“I’m sure the Sports Ministry will pay them when there is money but we are always in constant communication with them [Akonnor and Duncan] so they know what the situation is,” Harrison Addo said on Asempa FM, Wednesday.
Due to the pandemic, Akonnor had to wait until last month to handle his first matches against Mali and Qatar.
Black Stars lost 3-0 to Mali but thrashed Asian champions 5-1.
