Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council member, George Amoako has revealed it is difficult to get Ghanaian players born abroad to play for the Black Stars because of 'talks of juju'.
Amoako, who also heads the Black Stars management committee, said in an interview with Nhyira FM that those claims by the public scare the players, though some have interest in representing the senior national team.

“Most of the [Ghanaian] players born in Europe, if you want to entice them to come and play for Ghana, it is very difficult. They mostly aspire to play for their country of birth or host countries. Even their parents don’t opt for their children playing for Ghana"
“There are a lot of perceptions about how Ghanaian footballers play the game. Reckless tackles, destructive tendencies in the Ghanaian game and talks of juju put them off”.
Recently, GFA and Black Stars coach Charles Akonnor have been trying to convince some players to pledge their international future to Ghana.
Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah and Tariq Lamptey of Brighton are the notable players, the coach is said to have contacted.
Early this month, talented attacker Jeremy Doku, who had been targeted by Black Stars, made his debut for Belgium and scored.
