A delegation from the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly has submitted an eight-year development blueprint to the Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, outlining key projects aimed at transforming the metropolis.
The delegation was led by the Metropolitan Chief Executive, George Arthur, and included the Members of Parliament for Cape Coast North and Cape Coast South, Dr Kwamena Minta Nyarku and George Kwaku Ricketts Hagan.
Among the priority projects captured in the plan are the refurbishment and full operationalisation of the John Evans Atta Mills Presidential Library, as well as the rehabilitation of the Cape Coast Metropolitan Hospital to improve healthcare delivery.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang disclosed the engagement in a post on her social media page, explaining that discussions centred on the critical role of government support in making Cape Coast more vibrant and economically sustainable.
She also underscored the importance of mobilising local resources to complement state funding for development initiatives.

The Vice President further encouraged the Assembly to actively involve residents in decision-making processes to foster community ownership and ensure the successful implementation of development projects.

She stressed the need for the metropolitan development agenda to be aligned with broader national development priorities.
