As part of ongoing stakeholder engagements within the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition, the Minister for Energy, John Abdulai Jinapor, undertook a working visit to the Ghana National Gas Company Ltd. (GNGC) on 16th July 2025.
The visit formed part of the government’s broader strategy to align operational agencies with national energy priorities and explore avenues for strengthening domestic gas production.

In his address to management and staff, Mr. Jinapor underscored the pivotal role of gas in Ghana’s evolving energy landscape.
He called for increased efficiency and a renewed commitment to expanding the country’s gas infrastructure, particularly through pipeline development.
"Gas is not merely a bridge fuel; it is a cornerstone of Ghana’s energy security and a driver of our economy. We must invest in infrastructure and improve delivery through the expansion of pipelines,” the Minister asserted.

He further noted that the government remains resolute in its commitment to building a resilient gas sector to support power generation, industrial development, and employment.
Welcoming the delegation, Managing Director of GNGC, Ms. Judith Adjobah Blay, expressed her appreciation for the Minister’s visit and commended his forward-looking leadership.

She reaffirmed the company’s readiness to align with governmental priorities, adding, “The Minister’s vision and support inspire us. Our institution remains steadfast in its commitment to delivering results that will move the country forward.”

Addressing the staff, the Minister encouraged continued professionalism and dedication, revealing that plans are in motion for the establishment of a new gas processing plant – a move he described as key to securing a sustainable and prosperous energy future for Ghana.
