The 2024 Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has added his voice to the ongoing commentary about the controversial ‘Agyapadie’ document.
The document supposedly contains strategies on how a particular 'family' or 'clan' will establish total dominance and ensure the running of the country by taking control of the various sectors including economy, politics, media, judiciary, telecommunication and banking.
Portions of the document started circulating in both traditional and social media spaces with just four months to the general elections.
The 38-page document, which has no identified author, prominently features the Okyenhene, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin on the cover photo, followed by President Nana Akufo-Addo and his late father on the subsequent page.

With some identified events reportedly happening in the Ghanaian political space as predicted in the document which first surfaced over 8 years ago, attention has been drawn to its content again.
However, the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) continues to discredit it, accusing their political opponents of being the masterminds behind the document.
Speaking at the Ghana Report Summit under the theme ‘Dealing with Misinformation and Disinformation in the Upcoming Election’, President Akufo-Addo, referenced the 'Agyapadie' document and claimed that a plot was orchestrated to tarnish his reputation ahead of the upcoming elections.
Already, the Okyenhene Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin has described the document as a total fiction fabricated by those determined for years to create and fan a hate campaign against the Ofori Panin household and Okyeman.
But speaking at the Bawku Naba's palace during his campaign tour of the Upper East Region, the former President and NDC Flagbearer emphasized that despite the President's dismissal of the document's authenticity, its contents have been implemented under his regime.
“We need to hold this government accountable for the hardships that they’ve subjected Ghana to. For the State capture that they’ve implemented in Ghana over the last eight years. Buying State property, buying all the government lands, and amassing wealth for themselves.”
Recently there was a document called ‘Agyapadie’ and they said it’s fabricated. But even if it’s fabricated, the implementation is not fabricated because everything that is written in that document has been implemented.

“So, if really somebody sat and fabricated that document, then the person can really read the minds of people because how they could have written that document and read the minds of Akufo-Addo and his family that this is what they were going to do, then that person is a proper creative writer because everything in that document has been implemented, and so the implementation cannot be fabricated” the former President insisted.
So, they must be held accountable, and that is why Nana Addo says he will not hand over to John Dramani Mahama because he knows that when I come, I will hold him and his family and his government accountable for what they’ve done. And so, they want their Vice President to take over from them so that he can come and cover their backs. It is not going to happen, NDC is going to win the elections” he stated.
