Ghanaian players across Europe once again delivered strong performances for their clubs as the season approaches its halfway point.
Here’s a wrap of their weekend exploits:
Antoine Semenyo featured for Bournemouth in a 2–0 win over Nottingham Forest, a result that lifted them to second in the Premier League. He has now gone two matches without a goal or assist after registering six goals and three assists in the first seven league games.
Mohammed Kudus lasted 78 minutes in Tottenham’s 3–0 away win over Everton, which moved them up to third on the table.
Brandon Thomas-Asante’s fine form continued as he scored the opener for Coventry City in a 3–1 victory over Watford on Saturday, keeping them top of the Championship.
The 26-year-old has scored six goals in his last four matches, taking his season tally to nine, the highest in the division.
Central defender Mohammed Salisu scored his first goal of the season to earn Monaco a 1-0 Ligue 1 victory over Nantes – their first win in six games across all competitions.
Striker Prince Adu Kwabena scored his fourth goal in as many games for Viktoria Plzeň in a 2–0 win over Baník Ostrava in the Czech league, taking his tally to five goals in 20 appearances this season.
Forward Edmund Baidoo provided an assist in RB Salzburg’s 3–0 triumph over Austria Wien — his third goal contribution in as many matches.
Goalkeeper Lawrence Ati Zigi kept a clean sheet as his side recorded a resounding 5–0 victory over Grasshoppers, remaining just a point behind Swiss league leaders Thun.
