The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is optimistic about winning the 2024 general elections based on what the party says are available provisional results in Saturday's polls from across the country.
Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Director of the party, says the results show that majority of Ghanaians have voted against the eight years of the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) bad governance.
"From the results we have seen so far from our internal collations and provisional results, it is very clear that Ghanaians have rejected eight years of corruption, eight years of state capture, eight years of waste, and eight years of nepotism and cronyism."
Speaking at a press briefing early Sunday morning, December 8, after the polls, he further added that the election results are a testament to the rejection of "eight years of economic mismanagement, eight years of insensitivity, and arrogance" under Nana-Addo’s leadership.
He said Ghanaians have voted massively for change, and nothing will harm that decision.
Yet to be certified results from across the country show that the NDC is leading in both the parliamentary and presidential race.
