Hearts of Oak made it two wins in their last two games in the Ghana Premier League after their win over Nsoatreman.
The Phobians had beaten Real Tamale United to start their second round on a high.
Aboubakar Ouattara's side found themselves trailing at halftime after Walid Fuseini had given the home team the lead after 24 minutes on matchday 19.
However, the Accra-based side came back from the recess the better, restoring parity five minutes into the second half.
Salifu Ibrahim snatched the equaliser for Hearts before Kassim Cisse scored his first goal for the club to give them the vital lead and claim all three points.
The Accra-based now move to the seventh position on the league table after 19 games played.
Elsewhere, Berekum Chelsea made light work of Karela United as they claimed an emphatic victory at home to stay fifth on the log.
Mezack Afriyie scored twice in the second half after a goalless game in the opening 45 minutes before Kusi Pandrous netted the third goal late into the game.
Legon Cities and Accra Lions also played out a scoreless stalemate in their encounter.
Earlier on Friday, Asante Kotoko claimed a 1-0 win over Bibiani GoldStars to go second on the league table behind Samartex while Great Olympics also defeated Heart of Lions 2-0.
The league continues on Monday, where league leaders, Samartex take on Nations FC while RTU also face Bofoakwa Tano.
The Timber Giants currently stay top of the Ghana Premier League with Kotoko and Aduana FC closely behind.
Heart of Lions, Boafoakwa Tano and Real Tamale Unitred are the teams occupying the last three spots.
