Medeama Sporting Club climbed to the second position on the Ghana Premier League table following their win over Nations Football Club.
The Tarkwa-based side secured all three points following a 2-1 win at home against the Abrenkese-based side.
Goals from Emmanuel Owusu and Abdul Salam were enough for Ibrahim Tankso side to pick up their third win of the campaign in four games.
Owusu opened the scoring after just 12 minutes at the TNA Stadium to give the Yellow and Mauve side a well-deserved lead.
Emmanuel Annor leveled the score for the away side six minutes into the second half to set up an interesting last 30 minutes.
Just when the game seemed to be settling for a draw, Salam came off the bench to decide the game for Medeama.
The attacker scored in the 82nd minute to ensure Medeama didn’t drop a point at home.
The win also means Tanko’s side are now just a point behind Heart of Lions who are current league leaders following their 0-0 draw with Asante Kotoko.
