The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo, on Tuesday, presented streetlights to all 29 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in the region.
The municipal assemblies received 150 streetlights, while the district assemblies received 100 streetlights.
The MMDAs are to ensure the prompt installation of the streetlights in strategic locations within their respective locations and submit a brief report to the Regional Coordinating Council by the end of this week.
The presentation, which is the third tranche of the initiative, forms part of a collective commitment to improving safety, visibility, and overall quality of life in the region.
"This distribution of streetlights is being undertaken in line with the vision of President Mahama, who has consistently emphasised the need for safer communities, improved infrastructure and a worldwide environment that supports economic activity and social life," she said.

This allocation has been carefully considered to ensure a positive impact across the region.
She said the timing of the gesture was deliberate, as the country celebrated the Christmas season, and streets, markets, and communities experienced increased movement, commercial activities, and social interaction, especially during the night.
The Minister said adequate street lighting was critical to enhancing public safety, reducing crime, preventing accidents and creating a welcoming atmosphere for residents and visitors in the country.
She urged them to give priority to the markets, public spaces and other areas of need where lighting would have its greatest impact.
"These lights will enable us to monitor progress, ensure accountability, and demonstrate our collective commitment to delivering results to the people of Greater Accra.
"A brighter Greater Accra is a safer Greater Accra. Together, let us ensure that this initiative achieves its intended purpose and contributes meaningfully to the development of our region," he said.
