Hearts of Oak have sacked head coach Kim Grant after losing their opening match of the new Ghana Premier League season.

The Phobians were beaten 1-0 by Berekum Chelsea in Accra. Sunday’s defeat followed the club’s failure to win the President Cup after losing 2-1 to Asante Kotoko.

According to the club, Edward Nii Odoom takes over with immediate effect as the head coach. He will be on the sidelines in their second game against Medeama in Tarkwa.

The former Ghana international was appointed in 2018, becoming the club’s third manager in that year.

He led them to the semi-finals of the NC Special Competition tier I.
