Member of Parliament for the Buem Constituency, Kofi Adams says he has “done enough” and “prepared to serve” at the Ministry for Sports and Recreation.
Kofi, who has been nominated by President John Mahama to head the sector, will now go through vetting by the Appointments Committee.
The 49-year-old is expected to replace Mustafa Ussif, who served as Minister of Sports from 2021 under the New Patriotic Party led by Nana Akufo-Addo.
"As a party member, I have done enough and knew I was going to play a role in the administration in one form or the other,” he told GHOne TV.
“I was prepared to serve in any Ministry but two [Attorney General and Finance Ministry] and so I am not surprised where I am taking to.
“It is a responsibility. I have identified, studied, followed it [sports] and we can work together as a country and bring our sports to a level that we all desire it should be."
The politician is expected to change the fortunes of the industry including sports infrastructure, national teams funding and performance at major tournaments.
