Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has assured the rank and file of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) that he will never be the one to do anything untoward to create confusion and rock the boat for the party.
Speaking to thousands of party supporters at the NPP headquarters in Accra today, Thursday, August 28, after filing his nomination papers to contest in the NPP flagbearer race, Dr Bawumia also called on other aspirants to see the race as an internal contest, with the main opponent of the NPP out there.
"Our true Opponent is not within. Our true Opponent is out there," he said.
"We need unity to win, and I promise you that, just as you have known me to be, I would not do anything to bring division or conflict within the party. If there were to be anyone to create problems in the NPP, it wouldn’t be Dr. Bawumia."
Dr. Bawumia went on to outline a number of his vision for Ghana to expand the economy and create jobs.
