A former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has broken silence six months after losing his position.
According to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart, it was usual for elections result not to turn out as planned.
“You see as for politics and elections you must consider that it is not always win-win, it’s possible you will lose,” he said.
His comments come in response to a question posed by The Probe host, Emefa Apawu on Sunday on whether his defeat was expected.
Mr Boadu said that he had occupied both the rank-and-file positions in the party for over two decades and the roles he occupied required that he made a lot of decisions that might affect people which was a contributing factor to his defeat
“Sometimes I get amazed. The things that I hear are so minute considering the number of years that I have been in the party working with people. Obviously, will step on the toes of people, you are taking decisions that you need to implement. You implement decisions and it affects people. You must take a decision to go in this direction and that direction will obviously affect people.
“At some point, anything that happens in the party is John Boadu. Because you are the one who implements those decisions it looks as if you are the one taking that decision,” he said.
Mr Boadu lost to Mr. Justin Frimpong Koduah, alias JFK in the keenly contested election held at the Accra Sports Stadium in July 2022
JFK polled 2,857 votes to beat Mr. John Boadu who obtained 2,524 votes out of the total 5,556 votes cast.
