Ghanaian youngster Joseph Opoku starred with an assist over the weekend as Zulte Waregem recorded their first win of the 2025/26 season.
The 20-year-old provided the assist for the first goal of the game as his side fought to claim victory in a five-goal thriller against Anderlecht.
Opoku was named in the starting lineup for the third consecutive game, having helped the team secure promotion to the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.
The winger, who also grabbed an assist against Westerlo in the second game of the season, didn't take long to make an impact. He set up Tobias Hedl for the opener after 30 minutes played to give Waregem the lead.
Anderlecht grabbed the equaliser after the break, but Waregem would twice go on to take the lead in the second half before Opoku was substituted in additional time.
Their win over Anderlecht means Waregem now have four points from their opening three games in the Belgian top flight this season.
