A lorry driver has been injured following a road traffic accident involving a cargo truck at Mamfe-Amamprobi on Monday, 8th September 2025.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) reported that a rescue team from the Akropong Fire Station responded swiftly to the scene after receiving an emergency call.
The incident involved a DAF cargo truck, registration number GR 3583-15, which was transporting over 1,000 cartons of bottled water.

According to the GNFS, the truck veered off the road and crashed, causing severe damage to the head compartment and trapping the driver inside.
The rescue team managed to safely extricate the driver from the wreckage and transported him to the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital for medical treatment.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the accident was the result of brake failure while the truck was travelling towards Kumasi.

The driver was the sole occupant and the only reported casualty. No fatalities occurred.
The vehicle sustained partial damage to its head compartment, with four rims damaged and two tyres completely destroyed.

Authorities are continuing investigations into the incident and are urging commercial drivers to conduct routine maintenance checks to prevent such mechanical failures.
