President John Dramani Mahama has charged newly appointed envoys with the task of projecting a renewed image of the country, one that goes beyond political stability to highlight Ghana’s readiness for business, innovation, and inclusive growth.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of Ambassadors, High Commissioners, and Consul-Generals at Jubilee House on Thursday, Mr Mahama urged the diplomats to serve as powerful storytellers and strategic leaders in their respective missions.
“Carry Ghana’s story to the world, not just as a beacon of democracy and stability, but also as a land of opportunity open for business, embracing technology, and committed to partnerships that deliver prosperity for our youth and dignity for our working class,” he said.
The President emphasised that the role of an envoy is no longer limited to ceremonial representation, but now demands forward-thinking leadership and effective administration that align with Ghana’s broader development agenda.
“Your responsibilities go beyond representation,” he added. “They also require strong leadership and sound administration.”
He urged the envoys to actively promote Ghana’s investment potential, technological innovation, and business-friendly environment, while also serving the interests of Ghanaians abroad and deepening bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
