The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate, Ewurabena Aubynn, has urged the judiciary to uphold its independence in addressing issues arising from the recent December election.
Speaking at a press conference in Accra, she emphasised that the various disruptions undermine electoral laws and processes.
"The judiciary should not be involved in such anomalies; it should act as an independent body," she stated.
Mrs Aubynn stressed the importance of public confidence in the judiciary, asserting that people should be able to seek fair and accepted verdicts from it.
She questioned the consequences of ongoing disruptions caused by those in power, asking, "If power changes hands and another group decides to counter, where does that leave our nation?"
Mrs. Aubynn concluded by urging respect for Ghana's electoral laws, the will of the people, and established procedures to ensure peace and stability in daily life.
