The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is demanding a restart of phase three of the ongoing voters’ registration exercise.
The biggest opposition party is accusing the Electoral Commission of engineering artificial challenges to suppress votes in its strongholds across the country.
This follows some challenges that prevented EC officials from starting the registration exercise at 7:00am in some centres.
In a statement, the EC said the issues were due to network challenges.
The Commission also said they will make up for the lost time in the affected areas.

“Details of the extension for the affected registration centres will be communicated in due course,” the electoral management body said.
But speaking to JoyNews, Amos Blessing Amorse, the NDC’s Greater Accra Deputy Youth Organiser was not convinced.
He said the EC must give the chance to all eligible voters to register.
“Restart the third phase and the machines should start working at 7:00am,” he stressed.
