The USA chapter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has sent a congratulatory message to the President-elect John Dramani Mahama and his vice, the party’s MPs-elect and the party general for the resounding victory in the 2024 election.
In a statement signed by the chair of the chapter, Vivian Maame Aba Dadzie, she said, “On behalf of the Chapter Executive Committee and the entire membership of the NDC- USA, I wish to extend our warmest congratulations to the President-elect, H.E John Dramani Mahama and the first Woman-Vice President-elect, H.E, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyeman, on their decisive victory in the December 7, election.”
She said this resounding victory demonstrates the urgent need of Ghanaians for a new government that will alleviate the untold hardship Ghanaians are facing in the country.
“However, and more importantly, it highlights the belief of Ghanaians in the leadership style and the vision of their excellencies, John Dramani Mahama and Jane Naana Agyemang Opoku to reset the country.”
Professor Naana Jane’s victory, as the first-ever Vice President of Ghana, it is believed, will be a source of encouragement and power for Ghanaian women and women around the globe in their emancipation and gender-balance efforts” the statement noted.
She said the NDC-USA is highly confident that there will be a new Ghana with accountability, transparency, equity and inclusiveness, administrative discipline, sound economic policies, a very vibrant economy, many jobs, low inflation, appreciable Exchange Rate, improved educational standards, respect for the rule of law and others that will help resuscitate the country’s past glory both internally and internationally.
To the elected new-elected Members of Parliament across the length and breadth of the country, the chapter said “Their victory has sent a fresh wave of confidence to members of our great party, the NDC, and Ghanaians that hard work rewards in the end. It also gives the hope that President Mahama’s administration will have the right crop of leadership and support needed to reset the country.”
The NDC-USA believes that your exceptional leadership skills and your commitment to the party’s values and principles which brought you this victory needed urgently at this time of our history will manifest in the promising Mahama-NDC administration. We offer you our congratulations “it added.
The chapter also commended the party’s teeming members, supporters and sympathizers as well as all Ghanaians without whose support this victory would not have been achieved. “The NDC USA thanks, appreciates and congratulates you all for your efforts and the achievement.”
The NDC USA pledged its unflinching support for H.E President John Dramani Mahama, H.E Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, and the entire incoming government, and wished them great success in resetting Ghana for the benefit of the Ghanaian electorate and Ghanaians who have reposed their utmost confidence in President Mahama and the NDC.
