Nsoatreman FC has charged Yaw Preko to reach the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup following his unveiling on Monday, July 8.
The former Great Olympics gaffer was unveiled as a replacement for Maxwell Konadu following the latter's departure to South African side, Black Leopards.
Konadu won the 2023/24 MTN FA Cup title with the Nsoatre-based club before his departure ensuring the team's qualification to play in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony for Preko, the club owner, Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, who is also the Member of Parliament for Sunyani West Constituency and the Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, tasked the former Ghana international to ensure the team reaches the group stages of the continental club competition.
"Just like we agreed with Maxwell Konadu that in his first season, we are not expecting much from him but expected him to win the league in his second season, we are also not expecting that much from [Yaw Preko] in his first season.
"However, as for Africa, at least he should take us to the group stage and the rest in the course of the league season, we will review our positions."
Nsoatreman will be playing in Africa for the first time and will look to replicate the success of Dreams FC who reached the semifinal stage in their maiden campaign.
