The NDC Chairman for the Nkwanta South constituency, Prosper Akamani has been apprehended by the police over allegations of attempted murder.
Mr Prosper Akamani has been accused of stabbing two supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) after the declaration of the Presidential election results by the Electoral Commission.
The reported incident is said to have occurred at Dadiase, a farming community.
Legal representative for the NDC Chair, Lawyer Emmanuel Awiagah has disclosed that no evidence has been provided by the police against Prosper Akamani over the said allegations.
"They come out here with nothing and everything so far has been an allegation. We will not take it.
"Since it is a political allegation that the NPP were jubilating and the NDC came to attack them, who knows if this person belongs to the NPP or NDC?" he quizzed.
All legal means to secure bail for Mr Akamani has been dismissed by the court, he noted.

Meanwhile, Mr Aketai Frank, who sustained various injuries has since been admitted at the Nkwanta Municipal Hospital for treatment.
