The Member of Parliament for Ofoase-Ayirebi, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has attributed Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s victory in the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer race to a disciplined and consistent campaign strategy.
Mr Oppong Nkrumah, who served on Dr Bawumia’s campaign team, said the team’s ability to stay focused on a clear message throughout the campaign was a decisive factor in the former Vice President’s success in the January 31 polls.
Speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show on Monday, he said:
“I think what worked for us is that we stuck to the message. We had a very high level of discipline to message in his (Dr Bawumia’s) campaign.”
He expressed gratitude to the party and key stakeholders for the successful conduct of the election.
“On behalf of the NPP, we will express our gratitude to all the delegates across the country who participated in this election, the presidential election committee, the police, the EC and the media who helped bring a high level of transparency to what happened,” he said.
Mr Oppong Nkrumah added that the focus going forward would be on unity within the party.
“At the end of the day, the NPP is the winner, and now the exercise to deepen unity and discipline is what we are focusing on,” he said.
