The case involving former National Service Scheme (NSS) Executive Director, Osei Assibey Antwi, has been adjourned to July 31, after the defence indicated it was reviewing documents ahead of filing an application concerning frozen bank accounts.
Counsel for the former NSS Director, Ralph Poku-Adusei, told the court that the defence had intended to file an application seeking the release of some of the frozen accounts linked to the case. However, he explained that the legal team had to review certain documents before proceeding with the application.
According to the defence lawyer, the review of the documents became necessary to ensure that the application is properly prepared before it is resubmitted to the court. He did not provide further details on the specific accounts or the nature of the documents under review.
Following the update from the defence, the court adjourned proceedings to July 31, 2026, when it is expected to hear the application if it is filed, while the substantive case relating to the alleged NSS ghost names scandal continues.
