The Sports Minister has advised the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and head coach of the Black Stars to have their roles defined.
JoySports understands Mustapha Ussif met Kurt Okraku and Charles Kwablan Akonnor on Monday night to have a supposed impasse between the two resolved.
Mr Okraku is said to have sought to downplay the disagreements between the two which came to light following the brouhaha surrounding the invitation of players to the senior national team for AFCON 2021 qualifiers against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe.
CK, as Akonnor is affectionately called is reported to have said he did not invite Colchester forward, Kwame Afriyie Poku, but the player was imposed on him by the leadership of the football governing body.
It is also alleged that other players such as Asante Kotoko duo, Christopher Nettey and Imoro Ibrahim; Karela United forward, Diawusi Taylor were not dropped by the coach.
However, their names were omitted by some leaders within the GFA to the chagrin of Akonnor who vented his anger at the head of Communications of the FA, Henry Asante Twum.
Imoro was called back into the main Black Stars team on Saturday after Gideon Mensah suffered an injury in Guimaraes 1-0 loss to Sporting Lisbon last weekend. Other players; Justice Blay, Yussif Mubarak and Joseph Adjei who were all dropped were recalled.
The Minister held a meeting with the Black Stars coach on Saturday night to appreciate the issues surrounding the call-ups, before meeting the two on Monday.
JoySports sources say, Mr. Ussif advised Mr. Okraku to abstain from interfering in the work of the coach. Per our understanding, the Minister said the Coach is serving the interest of the government and cannot be made to work in the interest of individuals at the expense of the country. He, thus, suggested to the FA President to concentrate on his administrative duties while the coach handles the technical aspect of the team.
The two smoked peace pipe after and have resolved to work together in the interest of Ghana.
Sources close to the GFA President tells Joy Sports, they spoke via phone after the meeting and are on good terms and will have a good working relationship effective immediately.
