A murder suspect, Etse Justice Amuzu, the 37-year-old farmer, who allegedly shot his biological brother to death at Olombobi, has been remanded into custody to reappear on September 13, 2024.
When the case was called on Tuesday, September 3, Inspector Emmanuel Agbewoley, the Kadjebi Station Officer holding brief for Inspector Jacob Vormekpe, the Prosecutor, said the docket on the case had been forwarded to the Attorney General’s Department for advice.
Upon hearing this, George Wellington Arhin, Judge at the Kadjebi Magistrate Court, adjourned the hearing to Friday, September 13.
It would be recalled that on the night of August 13, the deceased, Bright Doe Amuzu, a 34-year-old farmer at Olombobi, who earlier in the day fought with the suspect, Justice Etse Amuzu went to Etse’s house for a discussion.
Suspect Etse, who was then asleep woke up and remembering the pain he received from Bright during the fight, went back and picked up his single-barrel gun and shot the deceased without any provocation.
The victim was rushed to the St. Mary Theresa Catholic Hospital, Dodi-Papase for medical care, but unfortunately, passed on three days after the incident.
The unfortunate incident had thrown the entire Olombobi community in the Kadjebi District of the Oti Region into disbelief and mourning.
In a related development, Divine Torku, a 40-year-old mentally challenged man at Dodi-Papase, who allegedly killed Hope Kudzo Dentey, a 60-year-old farmer with a machete, has been remanded to reappear on September 13, 2024.
A docket on the case was forwarded to the Attorney General’s Department for advice.
