The Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has called for collaborative efforts to preserve the peace of the nation.
According to him, although elections are crucial as they determine the next president, it is even more important that peace prevails.
Addressing different Christian congregations on Sunday morning in the Weija Gbawe Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Dr. Bawumia stressed the need for an all-hands-on-deck approach to resolving any concerns that may arise from the elections.
"This election is very important for the future of our country. But the most important is the peace of this country," Dr Bawumia said.
"So it is important for all of us to run our campaign in a manner that will preserve the peace of this country. We also need the prayers of all of you; the pastors and all of you for the peace of this country,"
The NPP Flagbearer also asked the congregations to pray for God's favour for him ahead of the December polls.
"I also request the prayers of all of you, for special favours from the Lord so that victory will be ours, myself and Jerry, the Parliamentary candidate," he appealed.
"Unless the Lord build the house, we will labour in vain. This is why I put God first in everything I do, because as Jesus Christ said, with God, all things are possible," Dr. Bawumia said, underscoring his belief in God's power.
