The Volta Region in times past was home to teams that rival the likes of Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak and produced talents for the country’s national teams.
Many believe the region would have produced more talents if the requisite facilities and support were made available, as the majority of these talents are getting wasted with each passing moment.
This informed a decision by a private investor to develop sporting facilities to help unearth talents in four sporting disciplines.

As part of the initiative ultra-modern soccer pitch, volleyball court, tennis court, and the largest golf course in the country are being constructed.
The facilities are located at the heart of the Adonai Airpot City estate situated about a kilometer distant from the Ho Airport.

The Chief Executive Officer of Adonai Estate Limited, Bright Adonai, explained that aside from promoting sports, his organization aims at ensuring that residents have access to these facilities for periodic exercise to help them remain in good health.
“We really want to promote sports within the city with the young ones that we believe have the talent, we want to bring them up.
“That is why we are starting the Adonai Golf Club. We already have a lot of people being members of the club”, he said when speaking to Myjoyonline.com.
He further indicated that his company also seeks to contribute reduce the country's housing deficit by ensuring the ordinary Ghanaian have access to lands to develop into homes.
There was a curtain-raiser health walk and fun games at the facilities, where residents were allowed to try their hands-on playing golf and volleyball.
The Adaklu Wayanu Football Club won a mini football gala, with Volta Media 11 picking the second position while Adonai FC had the third position.
The Winner took home a ¢1,000 cash prize and a ball, the second and third positions took an appearance fee of ¢500 each.
