The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) says a video of uncollected solid waste in Accra is from a sanitation day clean up.
According to a statement issued by the Assembly, the viral video showing uncollected solid waste on the Lutterodt Street adjacent the Accra General Post Office was cleared within 24 hours of operational time.
“It's however important to state that the AMA worked day and night to evacuate the waste from the said location and that as at the time the video was taken, some of the waste had already been evacuated and work was ongoing,” the statement indicated.
The Assembly further urged citizens to collectively contribute towards achieving clean Ghana.
A heap of rubbish was spotted and captured by a concerned citizen, Nana Osae Addo-Dankwa behind the General Post Office in Accra.
