Ningo-Prampram Member of Parliament, Samuel Nartey George, has expressed immense gratitude and humility after receiving a nomination from President John Dramani Mahama to serve as the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations.

Following President John Dramani Mahama's latest round of appointments, Sam George has been named as the Minister-designate for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Mr George stated that he was deeply honoured by the opportunity to serve both the government and the nation.

He pledged to carry out his duties with dedication, aiming to meet the expectations of the Ghanaian people and earn the admiration of President Mahama.

“Yesterday, I received notification of my nomination by H.E. John Dramani Mahama as the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations. I am immensely humbled by this opportunity to serve his government and our nation,” George wrote.

He also committed to undertaking a comprehensive reset of Ghana's communications sector, with a focus on positioning the country once again as a leader in digital technology. This vision, according to George, will be centred on delivering better services to the people of Ghana.

“Subject to the required Parliamentary approval, I commit to undertake a reset of our communications sector and position Ghana once again as a leader in digital technology that serves the people of Ghana,” he stated.

He emphasised the importance of public input, calling on Ghanaians to provide constructive feedback that will aid in the necessary reforms and innovations within the sector.

“I count on you all for constructive feedback to enable me to achieve the needed changes and introduce the needed innovation into the sector. I would not fail you in my service to you. My doors are always open,” he added.

George concluded his post by expressing his gratitude to God, President Mahama, the people of Ningo-Prampram, and his family. He hinted that Ghana is on the verge of a significant digital transformation, encouraging citizens to “get ready.”

“Once again, my gratitude to God Almighty, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, the wonderful people of Ningo-Prampram and my beloved family. Ghana goes truly digital. Get ready!” he wrote.

The nomination is subject to parliamentary approval.
