What was supposed to be a simple submission on a critical infrastructural issue drew a queen mother to tears.
She was part of some traditional leaders in the Western Region who were concerned over what they described as the government’s neglect of the area.
During an interaction with NDC Presidential Candidate, John Mahama, the Queen Mother of Mpohor, Nana Ebakra, became emotional as she highlighted critical issues facing the region.
These included the destruction of water bodies caused by illegal mining (galamsey), deplorable roads, a lack of proceeds from oil revenue, and other pressing challenges.
Speaking through tears, Nana Ebakra lamented the plight of her people due to the situation.
Other chiefs present at the event echoed similar concerns, particularly regarding galamsey, bad roads, and the overall underdevelopment of the region.
In response, John Mahama promised to prioritise the needs of the Western Region if elected, assuring the traditional leaders of his commitment to addressing their concerns.
