The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nations FC, Kennedy Boakye Ansah, has rallied support for the proposal of the extension of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) presidential term.
Last week, the GFA communicated receiving approval from FIFA to extend the presidential limit from two to three to fit the same practice as the highest governing body, as well as CAF.
The proposed amendment could potentially impact the current GFA President, Kurt Okraku, who has already served one term. Kurt, who is serving his second term, might be eligible to serve another extending his tenure beyond the current eight-year limit.
Speaking to Sporty FM, Boakye Ansah backed the proposed initiative ahead of the GFA's upcoming congress.
"I don't think it's a bad idea for Kurt Okraku to have a third term," he said.
"That is my opinion."
Following FIFA’s approval, the GFA is set to place the presidential term amendment on the agenda for the next congress, which is slated for August 12, 2025, where members will vote on its adoption, adhering to these procedures.
