Torgbui Ege IV, Acting President of the Dzodze Traditional Council, has called on chiefs and people within the Traditional Area to unite and work together to strengthen the Council and promote peace and development.
He said a collective commitment and cooperation among traditional leaders would enhance the effectiveness of the Council and contribute to the socio-economic advancement of the area.
Torgbui Ege IV made the call on Thursday during an emergency general meeting of the Dzodze Traditional Council held at the Ketu North Municipal Assembly Hall.
The meeting formally introduced him as the Acting President of the Council and provided him the opportunity to outline his vision for the administration of the traditional institution.
He urged members to put aside differences and work in harmony to preserve the dignity of the chieftaincy institution, promote unity and ensure sustainable development within the Traditional Area.
Torgbui Ege IV said the Council would continue to uphold the customs and traditions of the people while embracing collaboration, transparency and accountability in the discharge of its mandate.
He called on all members to actively participate in the activities of the Council and support initiatives aimed at strengthening the institution.
Torgbui Ege further said the Traditional Council remained committed to promoting peace and resolving challenges through dialogue and consensus to ensure continued progress in the area.
The meeting also deliberated on the formation of various committees and the processing of Chieftaincy Declaration (CD) forms for non-gazetted chiefs as part of efforts to improve the administration of the Council.
Torgbui Ege IV was recently appointed Acting President of the Dzodze Traditional Council by the Volta Regional House of Chiefs to steer the affairs of the Council pending the resolution of leadership matters.
His appointment is expected to ensure continuity in the administration of the Council and strengthen traditional governance within the area.
Some traditional leaders who attended the meeting told the GNA that they were optimistic Torgbui Ege would provide the leadership needed to promote unity, restore confidence and strengthen the Dzodze Traditional Council.
They remained optimistic that he would implement his vision and provide stable leadership for the Council.
