A vehicle was destroyed after it was engulfed by fire at Labone, near Aunty Muni Restaurant in the La Dade-Kotopon Municipality, on Sunday, July 5.
According to a post shared on Facebook by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), firefighters from the Trade Fair Fire Station responded promptly to the emergency after a distress call was received through the Fire Master Control (FMC) at 7:11 p.m. The crew was dispatched a minute later at 7:12 p.m. and arrived at the scene at approximately 7:22 p.m.
The fire appliance was driven by Sub-Officer Emmanuel Aryee under the command of Assistant Divisional Officer Grade I (ADO I) Lawrence Lamptey.
By the time firefighters arrived, the vehicle had already been extensively consumed by the flames.
The crew immediately launched firefighting operations and successfully brought the blaze under control, preventing it from spreading to nearby vehicles and surrounding properties.
According to the post, despite their swift response, the intensity of the fire meant the affected vehicle could not be saved and was completely destroyed before the flames were finally extinguished.
The prompt intervention of the firefighters, however, prevented what could have developed into a much larger incident in the busy Labone area, where adjoining properties and parked vehicles were at risk.
Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were recorded.
