The campaign team of the Fomena MP-elect says they are ready to meet the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) on proposals to rejoin its fold.
Andrews Amoako Asiamah's camp, however, says because the party painfully rejected them, they will wait for the NPP to approach them first before taking any decision.
President Akufo-Addo on his campaign trail said he cannot work with any independent candidate.
The NPP General Secretary in a statement in October sacked the Fomena Member of Parliament from the party after he declared his intention to go solo.
In an interview with Nhyira FM Thursday, the Special Aid to the MP-elect, Seth Oduro said the team ha nothing against President Akufo-Addo and the NPP party.
He insisted that, with the way the Lawyer Asiamah and his supporters were kicked out of the party, it would take the party to make the first move.
"You remember John Boadu issued a statement to sack Lawyer Asiamah and all his supporters. By so doing, he informed everyone that we are no longer members of the party. So if they need us, why would they think we will contact them first," he said.
Mr Oduro, however, added that any decision that will be taken by Lawyer Asiamah will be in consultation with the Liberation Movement that supported him to victory.
