Asante Kotoko took a giant step in the Ghana Premier League title race as Elmina Sharks became surprise title contenders.
Dreams FC continued to drop in the standings whilst Legon Cities rise after matchday 13.

Big weekend for Asante Kotoko
Asante Kotoko’s title aspirations received a huge boost this weekend after their 1-0 victory over Karela United.
Kotoko’s stance in the title race was strengthened as results by other title contenders with Aduana, AshGold, Medeama and Berekum Chelsea dropping points last weekend.
As a result, Kotoko are now joint top with Aduana and Medeama with 24 points from 13 matches.
A dry weekend in terms of goals
There was a lack of goalmouth action in matchday 13 of the Ghana Premier League.
The nine games produced just 15 goals with an of 1.7 goals per game.
Three matches ended in a goalless draw with just five wins registered last weekend.
Sharks currently the team to beat
Elmina Sharks’ turnaround this season has been admirable; from relegation candidates to title contenders in just five games.
At a point earlier in the season, Sharks went five matches without a victory, but a resurgence has seen them win four of their last five games drawing one.
Their recent good form has been inspired by midfielder Benjamin Boateng who has scored five goals in the last five games. Sharks currently sit sixth just three points from the top of the table.
Dreams FC in huge trouble
Many expected Dreams FC to be genuine top four candidates this season.
Zito’s men are currently winless in their last five games, losing three in the process.
The Still Believe boys are 14th on the table, just four points above the relegation zone.
Legon Cities FC safe for now
Legon Cities finally ended their draw run after defeating WAFA 4-1 on Friday night.
Prior to the WAFA game, Barjaktarević’s men had drawn four straight games and were desperate for a victory.
The win sends Legon Cities to the 11th position, five points above the relegation zone.
