Great Olympics beat Hearts of Oak in the Mantse derby, Ashanti derby between AshantiGold and Asante Kotoko produced no goal and King Faisal came from three goals down to beat Berekum Chelsea.

Here are our five talking points:

WAFA maintain strong home form

In the Ghana Premier League, data have shown that playing at home gives teams an added advantage.

WAFA have been proof of that this season, decimating teams easily in Sogakope.

On Sunday, the Academy boys made 10 man Liberty Professionals their latest victim. They scored five unanswered goals against the Scientific Soccer Lads.

WAFA now have the second best record at home this season. They are one of eight teams yet to lost a game on their turf.

The record stands at four wins and two draws at the Red Bull Arena with an amazing total of 18 goals scored.

If any team makes the trip to Sogakope for a battle against WAFA, they would have to be at their very best to avoid defeat.

Diawisie Taylor, GPL's apex predator

This season has seen a lot of goals with 231 recorded so far in 99 games (2.33 goals per game).

18 of those goals have been scored by Karela United and most of it can be attributed to the competition's top scorer, Diawisie Taylor.

The striker has netted nine goals so far, accounting for 50% of his team's goals. Six of those goals have come at home.

It is also quite striking that he has found the net against eight of the 11 teams he has faced so far.

Karela are on top of the table 21 points which is no surprise. Taylor will be under the microscope as his team continues their title charge.

AshGold and Kotoko end Ashanti derby with pride intact

The Ashanti derby brought expectations among both sets of fans and rightly so.

AshantiGold and Kotoko had accumulated 16 points each before the game started on Sunday and any of them could have moved up to second with a victory.

Unfortunately, both sides failed to score a match winner. But, the two Ashanti regional giants will be satisfied with the result.

The Miners came into the tie with an unbeaten home record this season (W3 D3) and the Porcupine Warriors boasted an unbeaten away run so far (W2 D4).

The result means that both teams are four points behind table toppers Karela but are firmly in the race for the league title.

Great Olympics own Accra

10 consecutive matches against Hearts of Oak, zero wins. Great Olympics came into the tie on the backfoot and had a point to prove in the Mantse derby.

Hearts of Oak were on a five match unbeaten run and looked like the better side under Kosta Papic.

The Great Olympics last season would have lost easily on Saturday. The Great Olympics this season is a different one and it showed as they earned a 2-0 victory.

It is quite impressive to note that the Oly Dade boys have beaten each side they share the Accra Sports Stadium with this season (Kotoko, Inter Allies, Legon Cities, Hearts).

Olympics are now fourth on the log and showed everyone on Saturday that Accra is theirs.

King Faisal ready to fight against the drop

Before matchday 11 started, King Faisal had failed to win their last seven games (D3 L4).

After the first 18 minutes, the Insha Allah boys were down by three goals against Berekum Chelsea.

They had their backs against the wall and another defeat was on the horizon.

But, King Faisal did the almost impossible, scoring four goals to clinch the victory.

Kwame Peprah led the charge, scoring a hat-trick. The striker has scored seven goals so far which makes up 50% of King Faisal's goals this season.

The Kumasi-based side now have 10 points. The win on Saturday could serve as the turning point as they aim to avoid relegation this season.
