The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor on Monday, March 22, paid a working visit to the Ghana Integrated Aluminium Development Corporation (GIADEC).
This formed parts of efforts by Mr. Jinapor to acquaint himself with the day-to-day operations of the institution.
Expressing some satisfaction, the Minister who is also the MP for Damongo said his ministry will work closely with GIADEC to drive government’s industrial transformation agenda.

The CEO of GIADEC, Micheal Ansah took the Minister on a tour of the institution, before initiating a formal meeting which lasted for close to three (3) hours.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Jinapor indicated that his goal is to provide the needed support to GIADEC to ensure that President Akufo-Addo's vision of building an integrated aluminum industry in Ghana is realized.

Lauding this vision, Mr. Ansah said the institution has made considerable progress in selecting strategic investors as partners for the development of the integrated aluminum industry.
According to him, GIAEC is currently working on other downstream industries.

The team pledged committment to enhancing efforts that will see to the speedy development of the integrated industry to facilitate industrial development in Ghana.

This, both the Minister and the CEO said is because an integrated aluminium industry in the country would transform the local economy, create jobs and boost the general economy.
