Upper West Regional Minister, Dr Hafiz Bin Salih has disclosed that five top officers from the Military High Command will be in the region on Friday.
This follows the molestation of some residents by military officers in the Wa municipality on July 1.
He said they will be visiting the Overlord of the Waala Traditional Area, Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV to apologise over the incident and also to reassure them of an investigation to deal with officers found culpable.
Over 50 soldiers from the 10 Mechanized Battalions allegedly left the barracks to the Wa township to allegedly brutalize several people while injuring many in the process.
Twelve victims were rushed to the Wa Municipal Hospital with two in critical condition.
One of the victims is a 29-year-old vulcanizer, Gafur Mahama was beaten to a pulp. He is currently on admission at the hospital, suffering from a fractured thigh and unable to walk or sit up.
The rampaging soldiers came to the Wa-Tindanba crescent, brought about traffic only to beat anyone they see on the site.
Some of the victims were whipped with canes and made to roll on the ground. Others were pushed into the gutter and further beaten.
Others who attempted to film the incident were met with slaps with the phones smashed on the ground and completely destroyed.
The irate soldiers were on the rampage apparently, over a mobile phone they alleged was stolen by a commercial tricycle operator on Wednesday night.
The Minister, Hafiz Bin Salih, who was out of town when the incident happened, held an emergency REGSEC meeting on his arrival.
He called for calm while they investigate the matter.
