The Women's Premier League came to a successful end on Saturday, May 28, at the Accra Sports Stadium as Ampem Darkoa Ladies beat Hasaacas Ladies to claim the 2021/22 title.

The triumph on Saturday means the Techiman-based side has now won their third league title, beating the Hasmal Ladies on penalties.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies won 5-4 on penalties after the game ended 1-1 after 120 minutes to secure the trophy and book a ticket to represent Ghana in Africa.

Success Ameyaa gave the Sekondi side the lead before Ampem Darkoa also equalised from the spot converted by Comfort Yeboah in the 25th minute.

With one final won, Ampem Darkoa Ladies will turn their attention to the FA Cup final but we take a look at how the Nana Mma fared throughout the league season.

After 18 games in the Northern zone, Ampem Darkoa only lost three games - suffering defeats to Fabulous Ladies, Dreamz Ladies and Pearl Pia Ladies.

The Northern zone champions were also held on three occasions while they won the remaining 12 games en route to securing a final berth.

They also scored a total of 45 goals conceding just 10 and keeping 12 clean sheets while amassing 39 points.

In the final, Ampem Darkoa faced a side that had gone the whole regular season without losing a game - Yusif Basigi's Hasaacas Ladies.

However, the Northern champions were not intimidated and were hoping to avoid a repeat of last season's thrashing.

After 120 minutes, Ampem Darkoa did the unthinkable beating Hasaacas on penalties with a 5-3 score to become champions.

The pair will face off once again in the FA Cup final to be staged in Kumasi next month.
