The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is set to make changes to the technical teams of the Black Meteors and Satellites, Joy Sports has gathered.
Ibrahim Tanko has been pencilled to be reappointed as head coach of the Ghana U-23 national team while FA Cup winner, Samuel Boadu will replace Abdul Karim Zito as U-20 coach, per Joy Sports sources.
Tanko, who was replaced by Starlets coach, Paa Kwesi Fabin last year, is being considered by the football governing body to lead the Meteors into the 2023 Africa Games, and the Paris Olympics qualifiers.
It is unclear if the former Black Satellites boss will accept the role having led the team to the 2019 U-23 Cup of Nations where he failed to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics before he was unceremoniously axed by the football association.
Sources within the Ghana FA revere the works of the technical director of Premier League side, Accra Lions, and believe he should be given the opportunity to manage and build the Meteors into the two major competitions.
The former Black Stars assistant coach was considered for the role for a second time under Otto Addo, but members within the FA had suggested he was inactive.
The 40-year-old lost out to George Boateng and Didi Dramani but has been pencilled by the FA for the U23 job per sources.
Annor Walker and Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum of Great Olympics and Asante Kotoko were appointed head coach and assistant of the Meteors in April 2021.
