Newly promoted Ghana Premier League side, Tamale City, with immediate effect, have dismissed Emmanuel Kotei for misconduct following the club’s match day two loss to Legon Cities in the Ghanaian top flight.
In a statement addressed to the player and signed by the Chief Executive Officer, Mohammed Iddi, the player is reported to have been exhibiting insubordination and gross indiscipline.
“The Management of this club have resolved to sack you from the club with immediate effect for insubordination and gross indiscipline’’
The further statement further states, “The club, Tamale City is bigger than any individual and would not condone any act that will bring down the hard earned reputation of the club. Your attitude…towards the Management, Technical team and colleague players has been very bad and has the tendency of breaking the team down.”
"It is a well-known fact that you served the club with all your heart in the previous years and we sincerely appreciate that, but your behavior this time is also clear that you want to break the team. We are therefore sorry to inform you that your services are no more needed the club and you are by this letter dismissed from the club” the statement added.

The player has also been directed to return all belongings of the club in his possession to the equipment officer before his departure.
Kotei, 25, has been an integral part of the Tamale-based club helping them gain promotion in the league after winning the special play-off to replace demoted Ashanti Gold.
The right-back featured for the club in their week two fixture and the first home game against Legon Cities on Saturday, 17th September, 2022. He was subsequently shown a red card for a reckless challenge in the second half. The club went on to lose the game narrowly with a 1-0 score taking their winless run to two.
