An inspector with the Ghana Police Service, who has been accused of shooting his girlfriend multiple times at Adum, in Kumasi, has been charged with murder.
Inspector Ahmed Twumasi of the Kumasi Central Divisional Command has been on provisional murder charges following his arrest at Oyoko near Effiduase a month ago.
The married inspector who was keeping a girlfriend, made his second court appearance in a month to a hostile court made up of relatives and friends of his late girlfriend, Victoria Dapaah.

They openly cast aspersions and threatened to ‘deal’ with the accused.
This compelled the police to subject all those seated in the courtroom to a search.

Lead Prosecutor, ACP Kofi Blagodzi told the court, presided by His Worship Buabin Quansah, that the A-G's advice paves the way for a bill of Indictment to be followed by committal proceedings that will commit the accused person to a trial at the High Court.

According to him, the commitment and sole effort of the A-G in Kumasi to expeditiously advise on the case must be commended.
He reiterated the police administration's resolve to work speedily to bring finality to the case, hence the seriousness attached to it.
